2015 Teen Performance Ensemble and Prince George's Children's Theater

Here's an exciting summer job opportunity for teens who love to perform! They can audition for the Teen Performance Ensemble or the Prince George's Children's Theater. All teens who audition must be 16 years of age and older. 

The Teen Performance Ensemble and the Prince George’s Children’s Theater offer pre-professional training and employment in the arts for high school students in Prince George’s County.

Those selected will be employed to perform in live, one-act musical theater productions for children at M-NCPPC summer playgrounds and camps during June and July 2015. Two different productions will be cast.

What to bring to your audition

There is no cost to audition. Potential actors need to prepare a one-minute monologue and an uptempo song or dance number ready to perform.

Public Art Opportunity

William Beanes Community Center


The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s Department of Parks and Recreation invites individual artists and artist teams with interest in and/or professional experience in creating public art and site specific commissions, to submit proposals for the William Beanes Community Center. Project 1 will consist of an exterior artwork on the facade of the facility adjacent to the main entrance. Project 2 will consist of an interior artwork located on the wall above the control desk near the main entrance. 

Artists and artist teams may apply for both, but no one artist or artist team will be awarded both commissions. The selected artist/team will design, fabricate, and install a work of art in the form of a painted mural, metal, mosaic or glass installation for the interior; and a metal, mosaic or glass installation for the exterior. 

The project budget, including materials, fabrication, installation, travel and expenses, is $50,000.00 for Project 1 and $15,000.00 for Project 2.

Year-Round Artist Opportunities

ANNUAL WORLD DANCE SHOWCASE 
The Publick Playhouse

Six dance groups have been selected to perform in concert on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 8 pm at The Publick Playhouse. 

Selected groups will receive an honorarium of $500 and a professional video recording of their performance. Auditions are by appointment only, and are open to dancers 16 years and older.

Annual Choreographers' Showcase Auditions

Dance Theater at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center
University of Maryland, College Park

Residents of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, 18 years of age and older, may apply to audition new dance works before adjudicators. Six finalists will be selected to receive an honorarium of $800 and present their work in concert. There is no fee to audition.
