Annual World Dance Showcase Auditions

Dance companies representing all ethnicities are invited to audition traditional work in any culture-specific style before a panel of experts. Total duration of presentation may not exceed fifteen minutes, and must be auditioned in finished form with costumes.

Six dance groups will be selected to perform in concert on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 8 pm at The Publick Playhouse.

Selected groups will receive an honorarium of $500 and a professional video recording of their performance. Auditions are by appointment only, and are open to dancers 16 years and older.

Application deadline is January 15, 2015 5 pm. There is no fee to audition; please apply online for an audition appointment.

Auditions for the 2015 Prince George’s Shakespeare Festival in the Parks 

Romeo & Juliet

All roles are paid positions. We are currently seeking actors for the Shakespeare production with a strong background in language, movement, and music. The Prince George's Shakespeare Festival embraces multicultural and diverse casting, so all are encouraged to sign up for an audition.

How do you sign up?

Send an email to Artistic Director, Christopher Dwyer at for an audition slot. Auditions are in groups, please indicate your time preference: 11 am, 12 noon, 1 pm or 2 pm.

What do you need?

Prepare one monologue from a character you are interested in playing in Romeo & Juliet. If you do not have a piece from the abovementioned play, we will also accept a Shakespearean monologue from another show. Please bring clothes you can easily move in, a head-shot and a resume.

Annual Choreographers' Showcase Auditions

Dance Theater at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center
University of Maryland, College Park

Residents of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, 18 years of age and older, may apply to audition new dance works before adjudicators. Six finalists will be selected to receive an honorarium of $800 and present their work in concert. There is no fee to audition.
