Comm Arts Rentals M-NCPPC maintains a partnership with the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at Maryland, to ensure Prince George’s County residents and arts organizations can participate and have access to the Center’s resources. Located on the edge of the College Park campus at MD Route 193 and Stadium Drive, the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at Maryland houses the University’s Schools for Music, Dance, and Theater, the Performing Arts Library and six performance spaces.  For a full schedule of performances and programs offered by the University of Maryland, contact the Center link to their calendar/site.

The Prince George’s Room at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center
M-NCPPC’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Division operates the Prince George’s Room (#2523) within the Center, where arts classes, workshops and summer performing arts camps are offered seasonally.

The Prince George’s Room is also available for non-profit arts organizations to hold rehearsals, meetings, workshops, readings and recitals at no cost.  Organizations using the Prince George’s Room may not charge fees for their programs.

Rent Credit

The M-NPPC provides financial assistance to Prince George’s County non-profit arts organizations for rental expenses incurred when holding performances at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at Maryland.  Prince George’s County based organizations renting performance space through M-NCPPC are eligible for lower Campus Rental Rates for the spaces and are able to apply to M-NCPPC for rent credit to offset their expenses based upon the total estimated cost of the performance. The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center staff is responsible for scheduling events and determining rental estimates.

The following conditions apply to organizations requesting space through the M-NCPPC or to apply for rent credit:
  • Only non-profit organizations based in Prince George’s County, Maryland, are eligible for the Campus Rate and to apply for the rent credit.
  • Organizations must provide proof of 501c3 to M-NCPPC and a copy of Bylaws with a completed Clarice Smith Center Space Request Form to M-NCPPC Arts Coordinator.
  • The organization must also provide M-NCPPC a detailed description of the performance, the artists/performers involved, and the targeted audience.
  • Rent credit is not available for receptions, food served during an event, ticketing fees, or rental of special equipment.
