Della Reese, 1931-2017, was an American jazz, R&B, pop, and gospel singer; actress; and ordained minister. Her career took off in 1959, with her hit single "Don't You Know?" Most known for her gospel and jazz singing, Reese is noted to be the youngest singer to have the same vocal range as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn. In 2017, she was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame.
