SUMMARY:Women and Children on the Underground Railroad
DESCRIPTION:Historian Dionne Patterson will discuss the history of the Underground Railroad through the lens of women’s experiences. Ms. Patterson is the founder of URGDay3 and author of several children’s books about the Underground Railroad. She has published multiple articles about the resilience\, survival\, and ingenuity of many Underground Railroad “travelers” who sought freedom from enslavement. This virtual lecture will be conducted using Microsoft Teams.
