M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County Announces
Early Opening of Baseball/Softball Fields
Riverdale, MD – Today the Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County, part of The Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning Commission, announced that it will have its natural turf baseball/softball and rectangle fields available for use on March 15, a full 2 weeks earlier than its traditional opening of April 1.
“This year we are proud to announce select fields will be available on March 15”, states Steve Carter, Deputy Director of Parks and Facilities Management at the Department. “We are thrilled to offer over 100 sites ahead of schedule to be used for practice and games by teams in the county.”
Fields are permitted for athletic practices and games only by M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County. Diamond athletic field sites in particular are available for both adult and youth baseball/softball tournaments.
