Join us on a journey through the rich history of African American poetry. A chorus of past voices from Phillis Wheatley Frances, Ellen Watkins Harper, Langston Hughes, Jean Toomer, and many more bring us through to more recent poets such as James Baldwin, Rita Dove, and Audre Lorde. Host and poet laureate Dr. Karen Arnold will also discuss local writers E. Ethelbert Miller and Lucille Clifton, both Maryland poets.
