Teens ages 12-17, take a break from the summer heat and join us at the Publick Playhouse for a free movie screening and snacks. “Wicked” (2024) is a musical fantasy film, directed by Jon M. Chu, that tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz before Dorothy’s arrival. It focuses on the unlikely friendship between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), a misunderstood young woman with green skin, and Glinda (Ariana Grande), a popular and privileged girl. The film explores their journey as they navigate their destinies as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. Rated PG | 2h 40m.

Safe Summer is M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation’s evening summer recreation teen program that offers special community center hours for teens and young adults who are Prince George’s County residents. Safe Summer offers recreation, safe spaces, and positive youth development for participants.
